About
Engineering for a sustainable energy future.
Hi! I'm Yuki Ainge, engineer, creator, and lifelong learner with a passion for building systems that connect technology, sustainability, and people. My background is in chemical engineering and embedded software development, and I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Sustainable Energy Systems through the EIT InnoEnergy program at TU Eindhoven and UPC Barcelona.
I thrive at the intersection of technical problem-solving and creative expression, whether it's designing AI-driven energy models, prototyping flow-arts LED props, or exploring how storytelling and culture can spark change. My professional journey has spanned biomedical devices, digital pathology systems, and renewable energy research, but the common thread is a drive to make technology meaningful, practical, and human-centered.
I believe in learning by doing, sharing knowledge openly, and building communities around ideas that matter, from open-source code and academic collaboration to art, travel, and sustainability initiatives. Long-term, my vision is to help shape resilient energy and water systems, and to bring innovation back home to Hawai'i as part of a global network of climate solutions.
Outside of work and study, you'll often find me hiking, traveling, experimenting with design projects, or getting lost in a good podcast. I'm equally energized by big ideas and small details.
